We "Can" For Kenya Update

March 14, 2011

Hi everybody,

Our final We "Can" For Update is being posted right now - the tables have finally been delivered. This is the e-mail from Gamewatchers.

-

Dear Griffin,

Happy New Year and many warm greetings from Kenya.

Am truly delighted to finally send you the pictures of the desks you donated to Oloibur Murt primary in the Mara. The desks were taken down during the school holidays but as you know most of the children don’t live too far and they were only too happy to come and receive the desks. Actually they considered it a Christmas present and this year when they started school they still considered the desks a New Year’s gift.

From all the children, Teachers, Parents and the Porini Camps – “Asante Sana”

We "Can" For Kenya Update

Hi everyone,

So far the books have been delivered to Iloirero. This is the e-mail that was sent after delivery.

-

Dear Griffin,

My colleagues – Tony the Camp Manager at Porini Amboseli and Naveeda our Marketing Executive had a blast last week delivering the books you so graciously bought for the children at Iloirero primary School.

The children, the teachers, the parents and community Liaison staff were extremely excited and everyone had a great time. Naveeda pointed out that the Children “were extremely pleased and asked us to pass on their message of thanks and showed a lot of appreciation for the donations.”

Griffin, you made this possible and despite the fact that our words and pictures cannot truly show you what an impact you have made in that school, I know one day your influence on the lives of the entire Iloirero school community will be seen. You should know that the books came as the students were about to sit for their end of term exams. These exams are a real big deal in Kenya as they determine whether you move to the next level/school year or not. And for the students - having access to reference books at such a time is simply splendid and indeed a dream come true.

Thank you Griffin for making us a part of your campaign and we do look forward to Oloibor Murt in the coming week!

Have a lovely weekend,

Brenda

My name is Brenda, the Head of Corporate Affairs at Gamewatchers Safaris. I am writing to confirm that we received the 600 dollars that Griffin so graciously raised for the schools at Oloibor Murt and Iloirero primary schools.

We are now in the process of delivering the books to Iloirero in Amboseli. As for Oloibor Murt in the Mara, they requested for desks and we are looking for the best suppliers for the same.

Once everything is delivered we will take pictures for Griffin and email him.

On behalf of the two schools and the students – Asante sana (Thank you)
